Clara's Work Gains Recognition

All of us who are part of the Clara Isabella Harris community have worked hard to increase awareness of the value of Clara’s work. The past few years have been an odyssey: contacting potentially pertinent people and institutions. This has involved travelling thousands of miles and spending countless hours meeting with collectors, artists, educators, environmentalists, historians and gallery curators. But we’ve made progress. Clara is now on two significant websites which means that her exposure has increased exponentially. Some of you will remember that in the fall of 2012 Lambton House was given reproductions of Clara’s paintings that pertained to that area of Toronto. Well check this out: www.lambtonhouse.org/Exhibits-Displays.html Also WAM the Women’s Art Museum Society in Alberta which promotes safeguarding and preserving women’s art through its digital exhibitions had included Clara in their website news in 2014. www.wamsoc.ca/WAMlinks.html Not too shabby!
